Local activities and recreation:
The North Shore Golf Course is only 7 minutes away, a beautiful 9 hole (can be played as 18/27). It also has a dining room and public are welcome.

Lake Superior is easily accessed for kayaking, which is a very popular sport in the area.
For the hiker there is an 8.2 km hiking trail which is part of the Trans Canada Trail. This trail follows the Nipigon River to Red Rock, with beautiful view of Nipigon Bay and Lake Superior. Hike for Health is held the last Saturday of September each year.

Nipigon Blueberry Blast August Civic Holiday with
Live From the Rock (livefromtherock.com) annual Folk Musical Festival, the following weekend. It is in it`s 8th year.
Paju Mountain run is held on the same weekend as the Folk Festival. A test for serious runners.

Other cultural activities: a 45 minute drive to Thunder Bay to find Community Auditorium which features world class acts,(this year Englebert Humperdink, Kenny Loggins, Celtic Women, the Canadian Tenors, Charley Pride, Mamma Mia, and many others.

Night clubs and the University Outpost feature artists year round.

At the present, plans for a 4 lane highway are in the works, when this happens, it will exclude this piece of highway, which will become a side road.
